I live in the Caribbean and I would like to know if this designe is suitable for construction in the tropics and if you are aware of it being built any where outside of the US?

Sarah isn't familiar with tropical climates, so she can't be certain, but she doesn't see any reason why it wouldn't work. She recommends that you consult a local architect. They should be able to tell you if it's suitable and, if not, what can be adapted to make it so.
