Has anyone considered building the HomeByDesign show house in its "Vermont" version? That is the one that is slightly smaller, due to the smaller bumpout window seats, and doesn't have that silly little low-headroom space off the stair landing. I am roughing out hard costs now, excluding land, and coming up with about $170/sf. The metal roof job is worth about 30 grand. We will consider doing it in architectural shingles, and doing copper standing seam (curved) on the eyebrow dormer over the screened porch.
