I would like as much information as I can get about using straw as a building material. we live in North Dakota so it can get very cold and humid in the summers. I do have specific questions but if anybody can point me in the right direction that would be great.
Thanks
Mike

Mike,

I found a book at Barnes&Nobel that is helpfull. Which on line is your best source.
I haven't bult one, but what I have read and have seen on TV, sound like one would be a good investment. As far as the walls R value and sound deading quality(because of thickness). With the increase of utilites.
Good Luck!

The Last Straw is a quarterly international journal that contains the record of the revival of strawbale and natural building since 1993. We also publish an annual resource guide listing people, publications and places where you can find assistance, information in print form, educaton and training opportunities, associations and networks and a great deal more. http://www.thelaststraw.org, <thelaststraw@thelaststraw.org>

I've bought several books on straw houses, which have lots of info, but nothing like The Last Straw.

It is so nice to see all of your interest in the Green Building! Although the straw house is only a small fraction of the many ways and methods of Green Building, my hat's off to you all!

Best of luck with your projects!! Let us all know how things progress, please.
