I have had my 2 year old NSBH on the market for about 6 weeks now. It is 2400 square feet not including the exposed basement and is finished very high end, I believe. Tons of birch and cherry custom millwork, 48" Wolf range in the kitchen, Rais stove in the great room. No plastic surrounds in the bathrooms, all tile. I have installed about 1000 feet each of tile and hardwood in this house. No expense spared!
What do you think the reaction that I get on the house is? We love it, but it is just smaller that other homes that we can get for the money. No kidding!
Anyone with some thoughts on how to find the right buyer for my home, I am all ears. Home is located in western suberb of Milwaukee, WI. Go to www.buyhouse.com, MLS 845004. Once you see the photos, I think you will agree that I am priced right at $429K. (I have dropped it twice to get something moving already)
Make me believe that that the NSBH movement isn't dead.

Don't worry. There is someone out there who is dreaming about your house, but they just haven't found you yet. Sarah had a similar experience in selling her St.Paul house. People who believe that square footage = value thought she was crazy to ask for the price that she did, and for a while, she didn't have any takers. But she had a real estate agent that really understood the value of the house, and when they showed it to one couple, they instantly fell in love with it, as though it was built just for them. The same thing will happen for you with a little patience.
The best thing to do is what you're doing - just spread the word as best as you can, especially through friends and neighbors who have been in the house and who have experienced what makes it special, or through other "Not So Big" fans and readers. Sarah's firm used to have open houses and invite all of their former clients, asking them to bring friends and family. Because these people already understood the value of an architecturally designed house, they didn't need to be "sold" on the square footage question.
Putting it on this forum is another great way to get the word out. I noticed however that your website link is not working. Could you correct it for us?
