Some random thoughts, in no particular order: Most people's instinct with a great view, is to have tons of windows and line-of-sight to that view from as many places as possible. You can actually end up appreciating that view less by having it be so prominent all the time. Consider alternating windows and wall space, even on the wall that faces the view. It can actually make it more interesting to have the view alternate with artwork on a wall. The other dilemma with an open plan is storage. A very not-so-big solution is to have your storage double as art display. I've done everything from cabinet doors with built-in picture frames to invisible doors (that look like walls) that can showcase artwork. On a door that moves, you need to mount the artwork more firmly than just a picture hanger, but it's not that difficult. Any flat surface, and some non-surfaces are fair game. I've even used lattice as a semi-visual divider, and hung artwork on that. Wendy Welton, AIA Art Form Architecture, Inc. www.artform.biz"Our Creativity, Your Dreams"
