Our kitchen will have 9' ceilings with cabinets to 8' high. I am planning a soffit of 2'2" deep. Is undercabinet lighting (maybe zenon) or small recessed cans in the soffit better to light the countertop. There will be cans in the ceiling beyond the soffit to light the room. There will be 1x4 oak at the base of the soffit directly above the cabinets.
