Where have you all been all my life? I just stumbled onto the NSBH concept and am thrilled beyond belief. I have 2+ acres of land in the mountains north of Asheville, NC and haven't been able to build as I couldn't come up with any house plans that I liked. I have a huge file folder of pictures of houses I DON'T want, & nothing of what I DO want...until now. I've devoured all the books & am so excited to find something that speaks to me. So, how do I find an architect who can help me design a mountain home that will provide shelter, but feel like I'm living outdoors all year round? If you haven't already done so, please check out the home professionals directory on this site. There is a navigation bar on the bottom of the bars to the left of this forum. Just search the directory for architects in NC, and you should come up with plenty of options. Be sure to read the piece about selecting an architect before you begin, as we can not do that part for you. Sarah has constructed a helpful questionnaire that will aid you in the interview process.
