My son who is graduating high school this year is seriously considering the field of architecture, or interior design. He was/is inspired by the Not So Big books, but he/we are fairly clueless as to what the daily grind of an architect or related field is really like in the real world. I have heard a very wide range of expectations for this field.

Any pros out there care to give some input, advice and/or guidance and perhaps make a real difference in a young person's life? I/we would love the hear anything those in the real world might have to say. Feel free to post here or contact directly at hirven300wsm@yahoo.com.

We have many, many questions....what's an average day like? How much does your school matter, and what are the top schools to attend? How hard to find "meaningful" work, and how hard is it to find work that pays?

Any input is greatly appreciated.

Best to all who decide to help and reply!

Hello, JP G--

I was delighted to see that you are from Minnesota, so we might have a chance to meet face to face.

My wife and I run VIVUS Architecture + Design LLC in Northfield MN. Our focus is primarily residential architecture, but I have experience in civic and religious architecture as well.

We would be happy to talk with you about our daily routine. 507-645-9020 VIVUS website
