I typed an extensive message and when I clicked on inserting a "smily" my whole message disappeared.

How may I get it back?

I'm really sorry, but it looks like you'll have to re-write your post. I have no way of retrieving it for you. A good idea with these posts is to write it in Word or something you can save first, then cut and paste it into the composing box when you're ready to post it. That ensures that you can just try again if some glitch causes you to lose your post the first time.
