I saw the News and Observer story and had a couple of questions, One was what did Sarah use as a diffuser above the lighting shown in picture 12? or is that indirect lighting?

Secondly the casement windows show in picture one on the second floor addition( directly above your head Marie), Were those wood casements without the exterior moulding applied? Brand?

Thanks
Rick

Hi Rick,

Sarah used a translucent acrylic panel, available from Lowe's or any other type store, with surface-mounted light fixtures above.

The windows are actually standard metal clad casements from Norco.

I hope this helps.

Thanks!

Marie

Marie,

Thank you for the reply, I was thinking that perhaps the nailing fin had been removed but then I tried a screen capture and enlarged the windows. I now see that the casement window frame and trim are nearly the same color, where-as the sash is a different color, Very clever way to make clad casements look more traditional!

FYI: Jeld-Wen bought Norco and is now sold as Jeld-Wen's "Premium Line ".
