Just wanted to say that the books are truly inspirational and a help in our not so big rennovation...but what I would like to see next is a "Not So Big" Home Magazine...
Just think of the possibilities....
Lots of Articles based on Not So Big principals A place where readers can share there stories Suggestions on projects... inspiration to live a simpler life...
Thanks for your suggestion. We have definitely given some thought to a Not So Big magazine, and it's something Sarah hopes will happen someday. At this point, it just isn't ready to come together yet, but please keep an eye out for it in the future.
I agree I would like to see a magazine too. There is a great need for one since the Inspired House by Taunton Press ended. I always liked Sarah's article in that magazine and still have every issue published of it.

Yes, i loved Inspired House and was very disappointed when it ceased to exist. A Not So Big Magazine would at least benefit from the name recognition, and more people would buy it so it wouldn't fold.

It seems like the country in general is starting to turn away from tract monster homes (yay) and towards smaller, higher quality, better thought-out spaces. The whole subprime fiasco seems to have helped accelerate that too, as has the green/sustainable living movement.
It's just not as 'cool' as it used to be to have a 5000+ sq ft home with no personality or style that looks like every other house on the block. It's kinda going the way of the 12 miles-per-gallon full-size SUV. You are the weakest link, good-bye.
The environment is really good now for a NotSoBig magazine I think. I hope Sarah seizes the moment and makes it happen.
Speaking of the environment, have you all seen the Enertia Homes? The concepts are great -- a house that heats and cools itself without added energy, and designed to last hundreds of years. But the guys are engineers, not architects, and they could really really use some input from Sarah to make the houses more interesting and well-proportioned and homey. check it out: http://enertia.com/

I'm glad to see other people writing about Inspired House - it was really my favorite home magazine and I was very disappointed to see it disappear. I think that it filled a unique and special place for information about NSB homes. I'd really love to see a NSB magazine! Thank you.
