I just wanted to thank NSBH for educating me. My husband and I almost made a million dollar, 6,500 square foot mistake. We currently live in a 5bd/3ba 3,700 square foot house and were seriously considering moving into this new mcmansion that has been on the market for a year with no takers. I have three growing children and three big dogs. I thought we needed a "bigger" house. However, after reading an article about NSBH, then purchasing the book, I realize that what we need is a "smarter" house. When I took the measurements of the spaces we really use, we only actually live in 2,800 square feet (and that includes the dogs). The house is not designed well at all (it is an 80's home) and the 6,500 new construction is REALLY not designed well. We are going to look at some larger lots (so I can bring my horse to live with us) and build a NSBH of our own. Thank you again for making me rethink what I really need in a home.
